cng-pressure-regulating-station
CNG Pressure Regulating Station

Overview
With changes in my country's energy structure and increasing environmental protection efforts, the development and utilization of natural gas have rapidly progressed. Compressed natural gas (CNG) purifies and compresses wellhead or pipeline natural gas, stores and transports it under high pressure, and then, upon reaching the point of use, undergoes multi-stage heat exchange and pressure reduction before being directly fed into the pipeline network to supply various users.

The economical range for the distance from the CNG pressure regulating station to the CNG refueling mother station is generally within 300 kilometers, typically not exceeding 500 kilometers, with a supply capacity of 2000-8000 households.

A gas supply capacity of 10-5000 m³/h is ideal; too high or too low a capacity will increase the unit gas cost. This system has a smaller investment scale than long-distance pipelines, a shorter construction period, and faster capital recovery. In the future, it can serve as a peak-shaving and backup gas source for long-distance pipelines.

CNG Pressure Regulating Station Process Overview: Low-pressure or medium-pressure natural gas is pressurized to 20MPa by a compressor, then compressed into specially designed steel cylinders or tubing bundles. These cylinders are then loaded onto skid-mounted vehicles equipped with traction mechanisms, forming a skid-mounted unit for compressed natural gas storage and transportation. The skid-mounted vehicle transports the compressed natural gas to the gas supply station, where it passes through an unloading system and enters the CNG pressure regulating equipment. The pressure reducing device within the pressure reducing skid reduces the high-pressure natural gas to the pressure required by the user before entering the transmission pipeline network. The pressure reducing device within the pressure reducing skid typically has two lines, one active and one standby, with each line employing a two-stage pressure regulating process. The heat required for pressure reduction is provided by a water circulation heater or an electric heating system. The CNG inlet uses a single or multiple inlet lines, each of which can have two or more venting columns for simultaneous venting. When the tank truck pressure is low, a bypass can be used, facilitating user switching between tank trucks.
